Fun-Filled Activities At DBKU’s ‘Majlis Agenda DBKU 2016’

KUCHING: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) will once again be holding a ‘Majlis Agenda DBKU 2016’ from Jan 15 to 17 at the vicinity of Sukma Ria car park.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem will officiate at the function on Jan 17.
Its Datuk Bandar Datuk Abang Wahap Abang Julai said the event would foster unity and closer relationship among city folk.
“Many activities will be held during the event this year. Also, visitors stand a chance walk away with a Perodua Axia car in a lucky draw through winning a quiz competition for three consequence days. The car is sponsored by Ismaco Sdn Bhd.
“Also, there are other activities related to DBKU that may be of interest to the public. There are also exhibition booths to be put up at the event,” he said when announcing the event and also a special grand prize at apress conference at DBKU Library in Kompleks Islam, here yesterday.
Among activities on Jan 15 , to start at 2pm, are ‘Pesta Laksa’, flea market, sales of food, sport and recreational activities, quiz, exhibitions and ‘Bandarayaku Berselawat’ programme which will be declared open by Work Minister and Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusuf.
Activities on the second day would be a Family info-Hunt Bandarayaku, Fun ride Bandarayaku and aerobic activities in the morning which will also see the presence of Semariang assemblywoman Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.
“Other activities include word search, cooking and flower arranging competitions and the soft launching of the Majlis Agenda DBKU 2016,” he said.
He also said 32 stalls would be set up for the ‘Pesta Laksa’ and 45 stalls for the flea market which would attract about 20,000 visitors in three-day event.
Other activities include futsal, dart, sepak takraw and Boling ‘Kelapa and Khat calligraphy competition.
Ismaco Sdn Bhd general manager (Sales and Marketing) Stephen KM Yeo and DBKU director Dr Saadiah Abdul Samat were among those present at the press conference.
