Aaron: Government has fulfilled its promise
Date : 19 October 2011
KANOWIT: The government fulfilled its promise last Monday when it presented a total of RM40,000 in grants to four Chinese temples here.
The cheques were presented to the temples’ representatives by Kanowit Member of Parliament, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.
“Today, I am very pleased to present the RM40,000 grants for the four Chinese temples in this area. This shows that the present government is sensitive to the needs of the people, even their places of worships such as the temples in and around Kanowit District,” he told the press after a handing-over ceremony at the Tai Kwong Kung temple.
The four temples which received the minor rural projects (MRP) grants were Lukut Temple, Penyalau Temple, Sah Temple and Tai Wong Kung Temple. Each received RM10,000.
“As I have always mentioned, this is the right government for the people as it has always considered the needs of the people first. This is in tandem with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s 1Malaysia concept, where the ‘People First, Performance Now’ concept is in action,” he pointed out.
According to Aaron, a secondterm Member of Parliament, the people have now realized that the Barisan Nasional (BN) concept is the best form of government they have ever experienced.
“Needless to say that all these years, the people here, especially the rural populace, has been benefitting from the various types of financial aids and development projects brought into this part of Sarawak.
“They are now very happy with what they have been enjoying thus far,” he added.
He also noted that while there was so much to do to bring Kanowit to a higher level of development, there had been so many development projects that had been realized by the government.
“This list of developments here is quite long, but suffice to say that the people here have enjoyed these developments in many forms over the years,” he stressed.
Among those present at the function were the committee members of the respective temple.
