Mayor Of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina In Kuching For 3-Day Visit

KUCHING: The Kuching City North Commission (DBKU) yesterday received a courtesy visit from the Mayor of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina  Abdulah Skaka, at DBKU headquarters in Bukit Siol.

Abdulah, who was accompanied by his special officer Halid Skaka and Kerim Zubcevic arrived at about 9.10am and was welcomed by DBKU mayor Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Julai.

During the visit, Abdulah and his delegation visited the DBKU GaleriKU and was briefed on DBKU’s Clean, Beautiful and Safe (CBS) masterplan and town planning. They also toured the Cat Museum before attending a video briefing on DBKU corporate profile and Kuching’s status as the City of Unity.

The delegation later visited the Kuching City South Commission (MBKS) and attended a sharing session with MBKS Mayor Datuk James Chan.

Abdulah, who will be in Kuching until Oct 23 said the visit was aimed at fostering closer ties between Sarajevo and the government of Sarawak.

Among the programmes for the visiting delegation is a visit to the Sarawak Cultural Village, the DBKU Orchid Park and the Brooke Gallery.
