Ramadan Donations Pour In For Less Fortunate In Society

LAWAS: Ramadan and Hari Raya donations are being given to help the less fortunate members of society.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said donations were still given even under the Movement Control Order (MCO) to lessen the financial burden of the target groups.
“I also urge all Sarawakians to strictly obey the MCO to ensure we are free from the Covid-19 outbreak,” he said at the presentation of Bukit Sari constituency’s Hari Raya donation to mosque and surau officials, Lawas Islamic Welfare Trust Board staff, community leaders, and staff of Bukit Sari Service Centre yesterday.
Chairperson of Lawas Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (Perkim) Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, also gave RM140,000 in Ramadan and Hari Raya assistance to orphans, senior citizens, the disabled and single mothers during the function.
Special students of SK Pusat and SMK Lawas as well as Lawas Community Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) also received similar assistance. Tecktonic and Sons Company and Empire Setia Sdn Bhd also donated cash, goodies and basic necessities to them.
Deputy Minister of Rural Development Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and SME Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Limbang Division Resident Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi, district officer Ladin Atok and heads of government departments were also present.
