Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030 | MEITD

As Sarawak transitions toward a high-income, knowledge-driven economy under PCDS 2030,
ensuring that its workforce is future-ready and adaptable is essential. This strategic objective focuses
on aligning workforce capabilities with evolving industry demands, particularly in high-growth sectors
such as biotechnology, renewable energy, digital economy, and advanced manufacturing.

Workforce readiness goes beyond traditional education; it emphasizes technical proficiency, soft
skills development, leadership capabilities, and career adaptability. The initiative aims to bridge skill
gaps, foster employability, and promote continuous upskilling and reskilling programs, ensuring that
individuals remain competitive in a dynamic labour market. It also prioritizes industry collaboration,
vocational training, and work-based learning initiatives to facilitate seamless school-to-work
                  transitions and career progression pathways.

By integrating data-driven workforce planning, industry partnerships, and digital transformation in
talent development, this initiative ensures that Sarawak’ s human capital remains resilient, agile, and
                  responsive to emerging economic opportunities.

To equip Sarawak ’s workforce with relevant skills, knowledge, and competencies that align with
industry needs and future economic trends, ensuring high employability, career progression, and
                  sustained workforce competitiveness.
