                                                                              Talent  Development  is  a
                                                                              fundamental pillar of Sarawak’s
                                                                              long-term   economic     and
                                                                              industrial growth, ensuring that
                                                                              its  workforce  is  equipped,
                                                                              future-ready,   and   globally
                                                                              competitive.   This   strategic
                                                                              focus   area    focuses   on
                                                                              enhancing          workforce
                                                                              competencies,  aligning  talent
                                                                              supply with industry needs, and
                                                                              fostering lifelong learning, thus
                                                                              supporting Sarawak’s transition
                                                                              into   a   high-income   and
                                                                              developed  economy  under
                                                                              PCDS 2030.

                                                                              As  industries  evolve  and  new
                                                                              technologies   emerge,   the
                  demand for highly skilled workers continues to grow, particularly in biotechnology, renewable energy,
                  artificial  intelligence,  digital  transformation,  and  smart  manufacturing.  Addressing  skill  gaps,
                  workforce adaptability, and leadership development is critical to ensuring that Sarawak’s workforce
                  remains competitive and capable of driving innovation and economic diversification.

                  Talent Development prioritizes workforce readiness by:

                      •   Aligning   training   and
                         reskilling  programs  with
                         industry       demands,
                         ensuring  that  graduates
                         and professionals possess
                         market-relevant expertise.
                      •   Expanding  technical  and
                         vocational     education
                         (TVET) and STEM-related
                         competencies,
                         strengthening   pathways
                         for  specialized  technical
                         skills and high-value jobs.
                      •   Promoting    continuous
                         learning,  career  mobility,
                         and  professional  growth,
                         supporting  individuals  in  navigating         shifting job markets and technological
                                                                         disruptions.
