2. Sawmill Inspection Course

The Department had conducted 5 series of sawmill inspection course and attended by
officers and staff from Forest Department and Sarawak Timber Industries Development

Corporation (STIDC). A total of 143 officers comprising Executive Foresters, Forest Officers,

and Ranger, Forest Guards as well as STIDC personnel successfully completed the two-day
course. The courses were held in Kuching, Tanjung Manis, Bintulu and Miri. The objectives

of the courses are:
 To provide an understanding of the importance of correct sawmill inspection based

on standard procedures;
 To explain the process, sawmill inspection procedures and preparation of inspection

report;

 To enhance the knowledge and ability of staff in carrying out activities and
preparation of sawmill inspection report.
