Initiated under 9 Malaysia Plan,

Information System, FOMMIS

Sumber Maklumat Geografik
Bersepadu) has established
ForestNET, a dedicated IPVPN to
facilitate deployment of
application to regional offices.
ForestNet was running live as of
1 January 2009 and is a Wide
st
Area Network (WAN) covering 44 locations throughout Sarawak which consists of 11 major
administrative centers, 14 timber assessment and monitoring stations, 16 nature
conservation centres (national parks and wildlife sanctuaries), two (2) R&D sites and one (1)
visitor information centre. Of the 44 locations, 20 are connected by VSAT while 24 locations
by IPVPN.
