1. Issuance of Licence
a) Timber and Sawmill Licence
A total of 44 timber licences and three (3) sawmill licences were issued in 2009 as shown in
table below.

b) Licences for bird’s nest, wildlife, gaharu, etc.
A total of 5,955 licenses and permits were issued. 205 were licences to import birds’ nests,
5,254 licences and permits to sell and export of birds’ nests, 117 licences to collect birds’
nests, 67 licences for swiftlet farming and one (1) licence to collect swiftlet dropping (guano)
(Appendix A (vii)).
Other licences/permits issued comprised one (1) licence for mist net, 33 licences to keep
protected animal and plants, three (3) licences to collect protected animals and plants, 51
licences to operate wild animal farms, 22 licences to buy/import wildlife, 188 licences to
sell/export wildlife, 11 licences to import gaharu and two (2) to export gaharu. Details of the
above licences and revenue collection are as mentioned in the Appendix A (vii).
