China Train Technology Fact-Finding Visit Enlightening – CM

FOSHAN: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has regarded his five-day fact-finding visit to China to explore the possibilities of cooperation on the development of an LRT line in greater Kuching as meaningful and enlightening.

Addressing the management of CRRC Corporation Ltd at their train manufacturing facility here yesterday, Abang Johari said: “Sarawak is seeking a trustful collaboration with reputable companies to acquire the hardware and software to build the LRT line which will be undertaken by the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation – as the implementing agency.”

Abang Johari and members of his delegation flew in to Foshan on Thursday evening from Wuhan city.

The visit he added had also given his team a clearer picture of the kind of collaboration that Sarawak should have with its potential partners.

While in Wuhan, Abang Johari also visited the Fiberhome headquarters which is China’s leading global IT solution provider.

During a conducted tour of the facility, he was given a briefing on the operation and services of the company.

Among other things, Fiberhome provides IT solution to train-line control and operation system in order to provide safe and reliable services to commuters.

Later, the Sarawak entourage was taken on a tour of the train body fabrication and assembly line.

The Chief Minister and entourage also visited an exposition here that features hydrogen as a new source of energy to drive public transport vehicles and other machines.

Today (Saturday), the delegation will proceed from Shenzen to Guangzhou on a high-speed train before flying back to Malaysia.
