BETONG: The continuous efforts of Betong’s Che Zhong Khor Moral Uplifting Society to help the community before every festive season reflects the unity and concern of the organisation regardless of race or religion.
In welcoming the effort, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu said he is ready to continue to work with the non-governmental organisation in serving the community.
In fact, he wants the scope of aid to be expanded not only during the festive season but also involving lightning aid when there is a disaster in addition to government agencies.
He said this during the Donation Presentation Ceremony for Chinese Citizens in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2024 organized by the Betong’s Che Zhong Khor Moral Uplifting Society on Friday.
Layar State Assemblyman added that the attitude of helping each other should be continued and made a tradition by the community in the Betong area.
In the same ceremony, he approved the allocation of a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant amounting to RM20,000 to the Betong’s Che Zhong Khor Moral Uplifting Society.
In total, a total of 68 beneficiaries from the underprivileged Chinese community in Betong, Spaoh, Debak and Pusa received the aid.
At the end of the programme, Dato Gerald also inspected the new building construction project next to the Che Zhong Khor Betong Moral Uplifting Organization Center which was built under the allocation of the Unit For Other Religions (UNIFOR).
