Its assemblyman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing handed over the allocation during a ceremony held at Bletih State Complex here recently.

In his remarks, he advised the constituents to cast their votes wisely in the next state election, adding that every BarisanNasional (BN)representative had been given MRP funding.

“The Baleh constituents have made a wise decision in voting for BN, by which the folk have benefitted from the MRP fund.

“However, the Pelagus state constituency which is not under BN, does not have this grant.

It gets some from Kapit parliamentary constituency under its MP Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.”

Nonetheless, Masing believed that as fellow Sarawakians, those under non-BN constituencies also deserved help.

“They are also our people who are in need of assistance.

I’ve written to the Chief Minister (Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem) asking for some funds to help these constituents.

However, I am advising them to vote wisely in 2016, so that they would be able to benefit from the MRP grants, just like their counterparts in Baleh,” he said, adding that this was the second phase of his constituency’s MRP grant, the last worth over RM1 million would be distributed before year-end.

Also present at the function were Hulu Rajang MP Wilson Ugak Kumbong, political secretary to the Chief Minister Wilson Nyabong, District Officer Elvis Didit and Temenggong Tan KianHoo.
