KUCHING: Head of State Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Muhammad Salahuddin officially moved to his new residence — Sri Impian — yesterday following its official unveiling and house warming ceremony.
The Astana, which is the current official residence of the Head of State here, remains his official administrative building.
Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud was among the 300 guests being welcomed by Salahuddin and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Norkiah to a luncheon at their new mansion situated at Kampung Temenggong, Jalan Matang near here.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan and State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar were among the other state dignitaries present at the ceremony.
The chief minister’s wife Puan Sri Ragad Kurdi Taib was also present along with Jabu’s wife Dato Sri Empiang Jabu.
An orchestra from Sekolah Seni Malaysia, Kuching (Malaysian Art School) led by teacher-in-charge Dr Sulhi Lamat provided the entertainment.
