Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030 | MEITD

Capitalize on MEITD ’s well-defined policy mandate to maintain continuity in strategic
initiatives despite shifts in political priorities.

Weaknesses-Opportunities (W-O): Address Weaknesses by Leveraging
Opportunities-Threats (S-T): Leverage Strengths to Mitigate Threats

                     1. Lack of internal expertise in education management (W1) + Availability of a larger pool
                         of education expertise (O6)
Engage external education experts to fill internal knowledge gaps and provide capacity-
                         building programs for MEITD staff.
                     2. Limited engagement in public education awareness campaigns (W4) + Platforms for
showcasing R&D and innovation in education (O8)
Utilize platforms like SELES to increase societal awareness and engagement with MEITD ’s
                         initiatives.
                     3. Limited funds for MEITD-specific initiatives (W6) + External funding opportunities (O3)
Pursue external funding opportunities such as grants and private sector investments to
                         supplement the Ministry ’s budget.
                     4. Minimal research input for federal policy development (W2) + Collaborations with local
                         and international organisations (O2)
Use partnerships with research organisations to contribute evidence-based inputs to federal
                         education policies.

Weaknesses-Threats (W-T): Minimize Weaknesses to Mitigate Threats

                      1. Lack of internal expertise in education management (W1) + Lack of effective
                         collaboration with federal agencies (T3)
Develop a dedicated inter-agency collaboration team within MEITD to bridge gaps in
                         expertise and improve federal relationships.
                      2. Limited resources for STEM teacher development (W3) + Limited capacity of technical
                         institutions (T1)
Prioritize the allocation of resources to train more STEM teachers to address institutional
                         shortages.
                      3. Limited engagement in public education awareness (W4) + Unconducive learning
                         environments (T2)
Launch targeted awareness campaigns to mobilize community efforts in improving
educational infrastructure, especially in rural areas.
                      4. Unacknowledged contributions by the Federal Education Department (W5) +
                         Insufficient federal funding (T6)
Advocate for MEITD ’s achievements and contributions at the federal level to improve
                         recognition and funding allocation.
