FOREST DEPARTMENT SARAWAK
ANNUAL REPORT 2009
The Department is entrusted with the basic studies on Biodiversity covering Botany,
Entomology, Pathology and Plant Anatomy; and Forest Environment which includes
Conservation, Ecology, Forest Plantation and Soil Science. In 2009, the Forest Research and
Development Division had initiated several programmes to equip Department’s staff with
the latest knowledge in order to improve their capability and capacity within the workplace.
Familiarization Visit:
During the year, a group of ten (10) officers from the Research and Development Division
made a visit to FRIM, UKM, UPM, MARDI, Putrajaya Botanical Garden to familiarize with the
research activities and latest facilities available apart from exposing them to some of the
various agencies and latest developments in research and development activities.
