Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030 | MEITD
As Sarawak continues its transition toward a developed and high-income economy under PCDS
2030, the strengthening of institutional capacity and governance in state-owned universities,
technical institutions, and colleges is crucial to ensuring high-quality education, research excellence,
and financial sustainability. Effective governance frameworks, enhanced administrative efficiency,
and robust quality assurance mechanisms are essential to positioning Sarawak ’s higher education
institutions as competitive centres of learning and innovation.
This objective focuses on enhancing the autonomy, leadership, and operational efficiency of state-
owned universities and colleges, improving academic infrastructure, faculty development, and
accreditation standards, and ensuring compliance with national and international education
benchmarks. Additionally, it seeks to foster financial sustainability through diversified funding sources
and optimize resource utilization.
