E. Signing Ceremony of MoU between Forest Department Sarawak and Universiti Putra
Malaysia (UPM)
Forest Department Sarawak who represented the State government of Sarawak has signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The MoU
including collaboration in various forestry matters such as research, consultancy, advice,
and training in which to improve the sustainable management of forest in this State. This
MoU also involved aimed at improving academic cooperation for the Department’s staff who
might further their studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The ceremony was held at Riverside Majestic Hotel and witnessed by YB Tuan Haji Mohd.
Naroden bin Majais, Assistant Minister at Chief Minister Office (Bumiputera Entrepreneur
Development) and Assistant Minister of Planning and Resource Management, Sarawak.
F. Media Appreciation Night
On 9 December 2009, a Media Appreciation Night was organized at the leading hotel in
Kuching. The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Right Honourable Pehin Sri
Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud and participated by the staff from Sarawak Forestry Corporation,
Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation and Harwood Timber Sendirian Berhad.
This event aimed to further strengthen rapport with members of the media, related agencies
