G. Delegation from Tohoku University, Japan
On 1 October 2009, a delegation from Tohoku
University, Japan made a courtesy call to the
Director of Forests. There were 18 participants
which were headed by Associate Prof. Suyama
Yoshihisa along. The purpose of their visit was to
better understand Sarawak’s Tropical Rain Forest
and the sustainable forest management as well as
the conservation
in Sarawak. The delegation were briefed on “Forest
Management in Sarawak“ by EF Ricky Johnathan Alek
from Management and Planning Division. There was
also Q&A session with the delegation.
