Datuk Amar Hj. Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, Minister of Planning and Resource Management II
and Minister of Public Utilities officiated at the function. He reiterated the State
government’s commitment to sustainable forest management which covered the aspect of
environment conservation, was the main agenda of the government and the Forest
Department would continue to increase the conservation of the biodiversities of the State. In
conjunction with the commemoration, Datuk Amar Hj. Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, Datu Haji
Len Talif Salleh and other VIPs took part in tree-planting and were taken on a guided tour of
the Exhibition Gallery. Internationally, the day is celebrated throughout the world on March
21, to highlight the importance of forests and their benefits to the society.
D. Excellence Service Award Ceremony 2009
Excellent Service Award Ceremony was held at Riverside
Majestic Hotel as a recognition and acknowledgment to the
staff who had performed excellently in 2006 and 2007. The
guest-of-honour was YB Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali
Hassan, Minister of Planning and Resources Management II
and Minister of Public Utilities, Sarawak. 73 staff
received their awards at the ceremony and nine
staff who retired were feted.
