WOOD CARVING is a tradition and living legacy of the people of Sarawak
relecting the diversity of cultural experiences and moods. It is a tradition
that has brought to light the resourcefulness and skills of our people
since time immemorials. Wood carving depicts a continuous evolution
of man and his forest environment, working towards its esteemed
goals of harmony and excellence.
The wood carving training programme conducted by STIDC serves to
impart and develop carving skills amongst the younger generation to
preserve and nurture this priceless cultural heritage.
