Kedamaian keindahan sungai adalah merupakan keseimbangan di antara pembangunan dan alam semulajadi.
The peace and tranquility of a river is a balance of development and nature.
As Sarawak is celebrating her 45 th Anniversary
within Malaysia in 2008, it is the aspiration
of the government and her people to move
towards a developed status well before the
2020 vision. In order to achieve that, the
government plans and implement many projects
in the fields of economic, social, health, education
and infrastructure for the people.
Kuching city, the capital of Sarawak is listed
as one of the top 10 most liveable cities in Asia.
The lush greenery of its trees and colourful
flowers that form the backdrop of the city,
its municipality and its outskirts have made
Kuching a suitable and comfortable place to
live. Much have been done to continuously
clean up and beautify its surroundings,
including the Sarawak River. The government’s
efforts in improving the quality of works
for rubbish, solid wastes and scheduled
wastes should be lauded as the technology
and procedures used are among the most
sophisticated and most modern in the region.
Certainly Kuching has to be very clean and
green to continue to attract tourists and
visitors. The many tourism products have to
be maintained in a pristine state. The people
of Kuching must be mindful of the fact that
we are living in a multi-racial society and we
must always help and protect each other from
the dangers of drugs, robberies, disasters and
other civil crimes.
