Forest Department Sarawak (FDS) organized and hosted the ASEAN Meeting on Forestry
and The Second Special Technical Meeting on ASEAN-ROK Cooperation Forest in Kuching
from 13 to 15 August, 2012 which was attended by 10 ASEAN countries and the Republic of
Korea (ROK).
4. Highland Festival Heart of Borneo (HoB) Sarawak
The Apple Festival held in May 2012 and the Festival Nukenan (Slow Food Festival) from 26
to 28 July 2012 were to promote ecotourism activities and cultural communities. These two
events were held at Bario and Bekalan which are the highland communities that live in the
Heart of Borneo Sarawak.
RAMSAR
1. World Wetlands Day
World Wetlands Day 2012 was held at Sungai Lemidin Besar on 25 February 2012 with the
theme „Wetland Tourism: A Great Experience and Expectation’. About 300 officers
participated in the programme.
