CENTRE (SAIC)
The Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Centre (SAIC) is a strategic initiative under
the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030, aimed at positioning the state as
a regional leader in AI research, development, and commercialisation. SAIC
drives innovation across key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and
energy through programmes like AI for Smart Agriculture and predictive
healthcare analytics. The centre is also actively involved in shaping
responsible AI governance, addressing issues such as data privacy and
ethical use. Through the AI Talent Development Initiative, SAIC is nurturing a
skilled workforce equipped with advanced AI competencies, in collaboration
with academia, industry, and government agencies. By integrating cutting-
edge AI solutions with policy and human capital development, SAIC plays a
pivotal role in advancing Sarawak’s digital transformation, boosting economic
resilience, and improving societal well-being. Its work reflects Sarawak’s
commitment to building an inclusive, innovation-led digital economy aligned
with long-term development goals.
