The idea of establishing private international schools in Sarawak was initiated by
the Right Honourable Premier of Sarawak to provide greater access to quality
international education for children from low-income families and rural areas.
These schools aim to offer a high-standard learning environment that enables
young Sarawakians to study and compete globally. The Sarawak government is
not competing with the private sector but ensuring that academically capable
students from rural backgrounds have the same opportunities as their urban
peers. Sarawak remains committed to investing in the best education for all,
regardless of socioeconomic status.
