MIRI: A total of 433,952 people with disabilities (OKU) in the country have registered with the Welfare Department. Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Rohani Abdul Karim said of the number, people with learning disabilities accounted for 151,954 or 35 percent while 16,461 autistic persons make up 3.7 percent. For Sarawak, Rohani who is also Batang Lupar MP said the number of registered OKU was 29,872 with 36.3 percent (10,842) having learning problems while autism accounted for 3.6 percent (1,078).
